A lot of women usually skip out of their usual nighttime skincare routine cause there’s usually lots of steps involved, and let’s face it, we’re exhausted. You’ll hear a lot of beauty gurus emphasizing on this point, never sleep with your makeup on. Cleanse your skin and remove the makeup as gently as possible, use cotton pads and a good makeup remover, or even makeup removing wipes that are properly saturated in the product. Use gentle motions and don’t scrub at your skin as the skin under your eyes is particularly sensitive, and rubbing at your skin harshly will just cause wrinkles and lines to form. If you don’t already have it, invest in Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing Water. It removes makeup flawlessly, and you can easily find this in any drug store. Even when I don’t have makeup on, I like to go over my face, lightly with some makeup removing wipes.
This is the most essential part of your night time face routine as you’ll need to remove all the dirt and makeup that’ve settled deep into your pores. Once you’ve gotten rid of the makeup on the surface of your skin as best as you could, remember you need to deeply cleanse your skin and really get rid of makeup left in those pores, which is why I recommend using a cleanser. Try using a gel cleanser like The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser from Tatcha. It is incredibly exfoliating, unclogs the pores, getting rid of the dirt, oil and impurities from your skin without drying out the skin, and it smells fruity-licious and amazing.
You Can Never Go Wrong With A Toner
I feel like toner has been an essential part of skincare routine for a long time, and it’s always been there. Don’t forget to go over your face with a good toner. It helps get rid of those last traces of makeup (if there even is any), and it balances your skin pH and allows your skin to further absorb other product’s goodness. Try out Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2 for a toner. It’s extremely gentle on the skin (if you’re someone who has sensitive skin), extremely hydrating, oil-free, and leaves your skin looking pore-free and flawless.
Use That Serum: Your Skin Needs It
Using a good serum is a great way to keep your skin looking hydrated, soft, and plump. In your night skin care routine, you need to invest in a serum that is hydrating and helps with repairing your skin. These days you must’ve heard of beauty gurus raving about Hyaluronic acid, and this is because it deeply hydrates your skin, helps maintain moisture balance in your skin, helps with skin renewal, and gets rid of lines and wrinkles. Try out Mizon Hyaluronic Acid 100, which is easily available on Amazon.
Moisturize, Moisturize, ! MOISTURIZE
Sealing in all that goodness is a must! You can’t miss out on this step, or else, all the hard work and product you’ve put into your skin will be for nothing. Every woman has a favorite moisturizing cream. However, if you don’t, try Tatcha’s Luminous Dewy Skin Night Concentrate. You’ll have to splurge a little with this moisturizer, but I absolutely love how it locks in all the products, smells fantastic, and is extremely hydrating. A little on the expensive side, but so worth it and one of the best nighttime moisturizers out there. Or, if you’d prefer, go for any hydrating moisturizer from any drugstore.
Sometimes your skin needs some extra loving, especially after a long week or day. You don’t want to go overboard, but your skin deserves a little exfoliating two to three times a week. When you cleanse your skin twice in the initial step, try gentle exfoliation at the end of it. It will get rid of the dead skin and any leftover impurities, leaving your skin looking soft, supple, and smooth. I highly recommend investing in WISHFUL Yo Glow Scrub. This scrub is extremely gentle, powerful and it goes easy on the skin, so you don’t have to worry about over-exfoliating and completely drying out your skin.
